UP Campus News (d6 COMMUNICATOR)

Posted on August 13, 2015

The University is introducing the d6 Communicator application as an internal communications tool. This installation guide will help you gain access to the application for uploading or reading UP news items. By popular consent, the name, Campus News, was retained. All permanent staff members will be able to access UP news and general information via the application on a smart phone, tablet or PC. This cloud based, stateof- the-art technology will deliver important UP news to you no matter where you are.

Introduction

  • The d6 Communicator replaces the ‘old’ Campus News emails.
  • The d6 is a desktop communicator application that is installed on the users’ computers and/or internet-enabled mobile devices.
  • Any information that is added to the content management system is automatically pushed to all users. The users can customise the communication so that they receive only news that is directly relevant to them.
  • Content is added using an intuitive, web-based control panel and no technical knowledge is required.
  • Receiving the content is easy. One-click installation means the interface is up and running in less than 30 seconds.
  • From a desktop platform to mobile applications or even email, content is delivered directly to the audience. You can also integrate it quickly and easily with your website and social media.
  • Authentication allows for limiting access to information to authorised users and for limiting which users can view which content.
  • All content is digitally signed and cannot be tampered with.
