Students, especially first-year students and those living in residences, are at an increased risk of contracting bacterial meningitis, a serious disease with a potentially fatal outcome. Students at the University of Pretoria are no exception, and unfortunately we have seen several cases, including deaths, in previous years, also at other universities.

The good news is that the risk can be reduced by vaccination, and the University of Pretoria Student Health Services are proud to announce that we shall be making the vaccine available on campus and at residences, to make it as convenient as possible for our students to protect themselves. 

As a drive to ensure that our students’ health is not compromised, the following vaccines will be made available:   

Date: 22 and/or 23 April 2015

Venues: Student residences and at Student Health Services for day students 

Time: 11:00 - 14:00
