As the leaves fall, it is time for casting off old habits and paving a colourful way to a new you! It is the perfect time to focus on acquiring healthy habits and getting fit while enjoying the mellow sun and the joys that autumn has to offer.

The first Mini-Olympics of 2015 is here! On 18 March you will be able to achieve your personal wellness goals while enjoying the beauty of autumn.

Mini-Olympics activities are designed for people of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels – so come and shake off the hot summer days, enjoy the fresh, cool breeze of autumn and build a new you! We are hosting the Mini-Olympics at the Groenkloof Campus with its beautiful green fields and we invite you to join in the fun! Hurry up and ensure you are registered on time!

There will be stalls on nutrition, health, exercise and stress management where all the life-changing information you will ever need to refresh body, soul and mind will be freely available.

There will also be exciting prizes up for grabs for the winning teams, the best-dressed team and the best team spirit. So, bring along your best chant, uniform and team and you might just walk away with a fantastic prize!

Whether you are an enthusiastic spectator who is there to lift the spirits, or a participant waiting for your next event, you can take part in a wide range of fun-filled wellness games that will flex your body and brain muscles. Zumba is one of the ways to get into shape – come and join in the fun! Other activities include soccer, volleyball and relay races.

Register online from 23 February 2015 using the PeopleSoft HCM system on the UP Portal. We have a limited number of places available and entries close on 6 March 2015. Join an existing team or create a new and exciting team – get more details from your faculty or departmental Wellness Champion.

Kindly note that staff members who do not register online as participants or spectators will have a normal working day at the office. Remember to accept the indemnity clause on the application form to ensure your participation in the day’s proceedings.

Transport to the Groenkloof Campus will be available from both the Hatfield Campus and the Prinshof Campus. A shuttle bus will depart from 11:00 at intervals of 30 minutes from the Hatfield Campus to the Groenkloof Campus and only one bus will depart at 11:00 from the Prinshof Campus. The departure points will be opposite the Sci-Enza (Hatfield Campus) and in front of the HW Snyman Building (Prinshof Campus).
