Electronic shutting of the turnstiles on the Hatfield Campus, including turnstiles at the Engineering 3 Building and Parkade – 13 February 2015

Posted on February 13, 2015

Please note that the turnstiles on the Hatfield Campus, including turnstiles to the Engineering 3 Building and Parkade, will be electronically shut as of 13 February 2015.

Access cards of all registered students and staff members have been loaded onto the system and most first-time students have already received their access cards. Contractors with valid 2015 cards will also be able to move through the turnstiles. Additional security officers will be deployed for the first few days to facilitate the transition.

To protect your safety and the integrity of your access card, please take note of the following:

  • Your access card is linked to certain access rights and fulfils the same function as a key. It   should therefore be used and guarded responsibly.
  • Do not, under any circumstances, transfer or exchange your card.
  • You are not permitted to give any other person – whether known or unknown to you ‒ access to the campus or any other facility using your access card.
  • Please note that there is an audit trail on all card transactions and that it can be traced if necessary.
  • If you lose your card, please contact the Client Service Centre immediately  for de-activation of the card and apply  a new card.

Any card-related problems must be reported to the card counter at the Client Service Centre.

Kind regards
