I believe that the University of Pretoria can also assist with this worthy cause and thereby demonstrate our concern for the welfare of the needy, as well as our commitment to contribute to making a difference. While we recognise that charity does not provide a lasting solution to the challenges of poverty in our society, the harsh realities of the winter cold pose an immediate problem for thousands of people that has to be addressed urgently.
Our aim is to collect at least 2 000 blankets.
I would like to invite you to join me in making a donation to the above-mentioned drive to enable us to collect as many blankets as possible.
Please deliver your blankets to the TuksFM studio in the Student Centre (above Pie City) from Monday, 18 June 2012 until Friday, 6 July 2012, between 06:00 and 18:00.
Blankets will be delivered to various charity organisations which will be named at a later stage.
