University of Pretoria presents awards to best performing students

The awards recipients came from both undergraduate and post-graduate studies. The Annual Awards Ceremony took place at the Hatfield Campus of the University.

The awards were meant to encourage, mentor and reward students who have shown excellence in their studies. They were also aimed at showcasing the SPMA’s competitiveness and innovation. The SPMA has been running the annual awards ceremony since 2000.

The categories of awards presented to students during the recent ceremony are:

  • SPMA Floating Trophy for the Best Achievement in Public Administration on the First Year Level (awarded to Nnono Kekane).
  • SPMA Floating Trophy for the Best Achievement in Public Administration on the Second Year Level (awarded to Donavan Westbrook).
  • SPMA Floating Trophy for the Best Achievement in Public Administration on the Third Year Level on the Mamelodi Campus (awarded to Calvin Seroka).
  • Heinemanm Achievement Award for the Best Achievement in Public Administration on the Third Year Level (awarded to Saeeda Ismail).
  • Juta Award for the Best Achievement in Personnel Administration on Honours Level (awarded to Thabo Chelechele).
  • PPS Award for the Best Achievement in Public Administration on the Honours Level (awarded to Bongani Lukhele).
  • Heinemann Achievement Award for the Best MPA Research Report (awarded to Ruth Kangume).
  • SPMA Floating Trophy for the Best Achievement in Public Administration on the MPA Level (awarded to Sanet Fourie).
  • Nicolaas Ligthart Roux Floating Trophy for the Best Achievement in International Administration on the MPA Level (awarded to Lisiwe Konyana).
  • Christopher Thornhill Floating Trophy for the Best Achievement in Local Government Management and Administration on the MPA Level (awarded to Jan Malapile).
  • SPMA Director’s Awards for the Best Achievement in Policy Analysis on the MPA Level (awarded to Isaac Sidell).
  • SPMA Floating Trophy for the Best Achievement in Leadership, Governance and Public Policy on the Ph.D Level (awarded to Freddy Mashamba).
  • SPMA Director’s Award for the Best Achievement in the Ph.D. in Public Affairs Course Work (awarded to Ernest Mokganya).
