Rasimphi attributes his success to his hunger to fulfill a dream, not underestimating himself, and implementing the motto PUSH (Praying Until Something Happens). “Really doing my honest best and letting God do the rest is a proven factor,” he stated.
The Championships was held on 30 June in the Free State. Winning was not an easy task for Rasimphi, who had to combat freezing temperatures and an injury. “I had to grin and eliminate the pain,” the athlete said. “I did my best and the Lord did the rest.” The South African Long Distance Duathlon Championships consist of a 15km run, 50km time-trail cycling and 10km run.
Rasimphi’s next competition will be this year’s ITU (International Triathlon Union) Long Distance Duathlon World Championships in Geel, Belgium.
