This project is part of a process to revive the Southern African Student Volunteers (SASVO) organisation which suspended activities towards the end of 2005. SASVO’s policy of 50/50 involves working with communities - with half the effort coming from SASVO and half from the communities.
This week as part of their contribution, the parents from Meetse A Bophelo are providing lunch for the student volunteers, and some of the older pupils are assisting with clearing the grounds. This ties in closely with the University of Pretoria’s emphasis on community service as part of the university’s focus.
