UP receives donation from Hatfield business community

The Club60+ consists of more than 300 prominent alumni who are closely linked to UP and also serve as ambassadors for the University. Usually these alumni support UP by donating their time, money (to be used for bursaries and projects) or expertise for the advancement of the current student body and the University.

“This time, it is unique in that current students are donating towards the alumni –with the help of a private sector partner – instead of the other way around. The donation will fund the club's activities and strengthen the mutually beneficial relationship between prominent alumni and the University,” says Linda van Wyk, Senior Development Officer at the University of Pretoria.

Ms Michela Piccini of the Redefine Income Fund (owners of Hatfield Square) presented the cheque to the Club60+ on Thursday, April 17. The chairperson of the Club+60, Prof Eggie Gerryts, will accept the donation on behalf of the Club.
