Tuks Swimmers help Team SA to defend title as the top swimming nation in Africa!

Both Marlies and Ryan returned with 3 golds & 1 silver medal, Rita won 3 gold medals, Divan 1 gold & 3 silvers while Kitiwe returned with a bronze. The team consisted of 4 male & 4 female swimmers in the 13-14 age category as well as the 15-16 age category. Team SA usually gets stiff competition from Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Zimbabwe, Mauritius and Seychelles and this time it wasn’t different.

The individual results were:

Ryan Coetzee – gold in 50Free, 50Fly, 100Fly & silver in 100Free

Marlies Ross – gold in 200Free, 200IM, 100Breast & silver in 100Back

Rita Naude – gold in 100Back, 50 Fly & 50 Free

Divan du Pisanie – gold in 100 Fly & silver in 100Free, 50 Free, 50 Fly

Kitiwe Hadebe – bronze in 100 Fly

These swimmers hit the ground running on their return as they will be going into their annual provincial championships starting on Friday at the Hillcrest pool. Tuks will rely heavily on these swimmers to help them win the provincial championships for the 10th year in a row.
