The 2008 lecture will be presented by Prof Roelf Sandenbergh, Dean of UP’s Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology on the topic: Engineering Engineering Education – a South African Perspective.

Presented under the auspices of the South African Academy of Engineering and the University of Pretoria, of which Dr van der Bijl was the Chancellor from 1934 to 1949, the lecture commemorates the significant contribution Van der Bijl made to the industrial and scientific development of South Africa.
