The competition is presented by the Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria with the support of the Regional Office for Southern Africa of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (ROSA). All law faculties were invited to submit heads of argument on the basis of a hypothetical case. Based on the assessment of the heads of argument by a panel of experts, three teams from each of the five UN regions are invited to participate in person in the semi-finals and final round in Pretoria in December.
