According to the agreement – signed by UP’s Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof Cheryl de la Rey and Gijima’s Chief Technology Officer, Emson Moyo – this information and communications technology company will provide a sponsorship to supplement the salaries of deserving personnel in the Department of Informatics to make it more market related. A part of the sponsorship will this year again be used to fund the Gijima Chair in Informatics at UP.
