The Diploma, sponsored by PwC, aims to provide students with the necessary skills to implement integrated reporting in their respective organisations. It will also focus on the assurance aspect of integrated reporting, with the aim to build capacity within the assurance sector in South Africa.
The Diploma is a one-year part-time programme which will be presented at the University of Pretoria, Hatfield Campus. The first intake of students will be during January 2013. Applications close on 31 October 2012.
During his presentation, Integrated Reporting Programme Director Pieter Conradie said “A recent survey by the UN Global Compact and Accenture revealed that 86% of CEOs believe that the tipping point to embed sustainability into strategy lies in the ability to perform accurate long-term valuations with the inclusion of sustainability metrics. This information should motivate organisations and CEOs to develop the internal capacity to accurately measure environmental, social and governance information to determine its impact on long-term value creation.”
