Martin Moshal addressed the students on the importance of selecting a role model for their personal and professional lives. His talk was inspirational, but he stressed that the students should always take into account that role models may not be perfect human beings and that they should also learn from the mistakes of their role models. Martin’s proud parents were also present, and Martin’s father expressed his delight in his exceptional son who is ‘paying forward’ his own success into the lives of hundreds of young people on the African continent.

The University of Pretoria has a contract with the Moshal Scholarship Fund, and students who apply online for a UP Support Bursary are screened according to set criteria for the Fund. A list of candidates is submitted annually to the Fund, and students are selected to become Moshal Scholars.
