The athletes were: Olympic silver medallist and former 800 meter world champion, Caster Semenya; Olympic silver medallist and long jumper Khotso Mokoena; Bridgitte Hartley, sprint canoer who won a bronze medal in the K-1 1000 m at the 2012 London Olympics; and the Olympic rowing gold medallists Sizwe Ndlovu, Matthew Brittain, James Thompson and John Smith.
