Tukkies and their archenemy from down South, Maties, are the only unbeaten teams after the first two rounds. Maties beat UJ in the last match played Monday.
Jannie Robberts, Tuks’ team manager, said from Port Elizabeth the Pretoria students had to work hard to get the better of the home team.
When the teams changed sides, it was still 13-13 and Tuks only really got the upper hand in the last 15 minutes.
Tuks scored the fourth try for the bonus point from the last movement of the match, added Robberts.
Franco Booysen (centre), Aaron Denenga (wing, picture above), Danie Crous (flank) and Ettienne Breytenbach (prop) scored the tries, while fly half Juan-Claude Roos (2 conversions, 3 penalty goals) and fullback Piet-Piet Swart (2 penalty goals) added the rest of the points.
