This means that Shaun has become the first black player who will captain Tuks in the prestigious Varsity Cup Series. In 2009 Shaun became the first black player to captain Tuks in the Carlton League.
Shaun will be assisted by three vice-captains: prop Ettiene Breytenbach, No 8 Marius Weber, who last year still played for Centurion, and inside centre Franco Booysen who is back in the Tuks kraal after a stunt with the Valke’s Currie Cup team.
Marius is the son of the former Northern Transvaal prop Hans Weber, who died in 2009.
