Tuks off to winning start, but . . .

Posted on June 21, 2010

Tuks did not finish well at all, however, and was fortunate to not draw or lose the match.

The biggest challenge the Tuks coaching duo of Blikkies Groenewald and Nollis Marais will have this week is what exactly led to the slump in their team’s play. Most worrying about the Valke’s three try blitz was that two came directly from basic Tuks mistakes.

Tuks’ next game is against Naka Bulle on 26 June (14:00 kick off) and they will be wise to be forewarned as the ‘Moot-manne’ saw to the biggest surprise of the season with their convincing 29-12 win against much more fancied Centurion.

Tuks’ fullback, Boeboes Coetzee was named best back of the match, whilst lock Peet Bothma got the nod up front.

Tuks’ tries were scored by GD Kotzee, Peet Bothma, Francois van Wyk, Hein Viljoen and Boboes Coetzee. Boeboes also succeeded with three conversions and a penalty goal.
