TuksRugby on verge of remarkable whitewash

Most of the semi-finals were contested on Saturday (August 27) at the TuksRugby Stadium and SAPS College. Four Tuks teams played at home and the other two away.

Most eyes were on the UP flagship, UP-Tuks 1, in its semi-final match against Centurion. UP-Tuks did not disappoint their supporters as they won 37-23 after leading 27-17 at the break.

In the three other matches played at the TuksRugby Stadium Tuks Fezelas (2nd league), Tuks Jongspan (u.21) and Tuks u.19A (u.20) won against TUT (46-18), Centurion (48-13) and Police u.19 (25-10) respectively.

At the SAPS College Tuks Pumas (3rd league) and Tuks u.20 saw to the demise of Naka Bulle (24-20) and TUT u.20 (24-13).

The first Tuks team to reach the finals was Tuks Renegades. They beat TUT on Friday night in the one 4th league semi-final.

Tuks’ opponents in the 1st league final are Police, a repeat of 2009 and 2010. The rest of the fixtures are:
  • 2nd League: Tuks Fezelas v Centurion;
  • 3rd League: Tuks Pumas v Centurion;
  • 4th League: Tuks Renegades v Harlequins;
  • u.21 League: Tuks Jongspan v Police u.21;
  • u.20 League: Tuks u.20 v Tuks u.20A.
