The 72 holes stroke-play which would determine the teams qualifying for the various divisions, were played at Pretoria Country Club and Wingate Park Country Club respectively over the first two days.

The University of Pretoria's Jacques van Tonder with rounds of 72-69-72-77 was crowned men's champion and Gina Switala with rounds of 75-72-75-72, the women's champion. Gina Switala also won the women's match-play championship as there was no women's teams event.

Tuks 1 with some excellent individual performances by a number of players, easily topped the A Division with NMMU from P E took the last spot in the A division. The men's teams event, played in a match-play format (foursomes and singles), was contested over the last three days of the tournament.
