TuksCricket claims another USSA Trophy

On Day 1 : Assupol Tuks vs Pukke


Pukke won the toss and elected to bowl first. David Bunn (83) and Steph le Roux (59) coming to the party with a 101 run partnership of just 110 balls. Assupol Tuks posing a total of 228 in 48 overs. Tuks bowled Pukke out for 87 in only 23 overs. With bowling performance from Gerhard Linde bowling 5 overs, 3 wickets for only 16 runs and Tumi Masekela Bowling 6 overs, 2 wickets for only 17 runs (2 maidens). Assupol Tuks beat Pukke by 141 runs.

Day 2 : Assupol Tuks vs Kovsies


Kovsies won the toss and elected to Bowl. Assupol Tuks posed 252/7 in 50 overs with Assupol Tuks’ captain Francios Le Clus scoring a 118 off 136 balls and Heinrich Klaasen with a 50 off 51 balls. Assupol Tuks once again with a good Bowling display restricting Kovsies to only 180 runs for 9 wickets in 50 Overs. Assupol Tuks won by 72 runs.

Day 3 : Assupol Tuks vs UWC

Assupol Tuks won the toss and elected to bat first, posing a total of 241/7 in 50 Overs. With David Bunn scoring 70 and Heinrich Klaasen 39. Assupol Tuks Bowled UWC out for 160 in the 48th over. Gerhard Linde taking 4 wickets, 19 runs in 10 overs and Tumi Masekela 3 wickets, 33 runs in 9 overs. Assupol Tuks won by 81 Runs.

Day 4 (Semi Finals) :  Assupol Tuks vs NMMU

Assupol Tuks won the toss and elected to bat, posing a total of 276/4 in 50 Overs, performances by Francios Le Clus 83, David Bunn 76, Theunis de Bruyn 59. Assupol Tuks restricted NMMU to only 224/9 in 50 overs. Assupol Tuks won the semi –Final with 52 runs.

No matches played on Day 5 on account of rain and Assupol Tuks declared as USSA Champions
  • Francois Le Clus was selected as South African Universities Captain.
  • David Bunn, Tumi Masekela, Gerhard Linde and Brandon Le Roux (Assupol TuksCricket Club –Tuks 1 Player) where also selected to represent The USSA 2011 team. Well done to these players.
