On 25 April Tuks race walker Marc Mundell took part in the German national championships.
He came first in the 50 km race walk in a new SA record time of 4 hours 4 minutes and 42 seconds which was also within the IAAF World Championships B standard time of 4:09:00.
The old record of 4:07,30 stood since 1996.
