This follows his star performance at the third Diamond League meeting in Rome on Friday (27 May) where he clocked a winning time of 48.24, fast enough to beat two times Olympic champion Angelo Taylor and 2008 Olympic silver medallist Kerron Clement of the United States to the line.
Van Zyl seems to flourish under pressure. His time in Ostrava was the third sub-48 seconds he has clocked this season. He hasalready run the five fastest times in the world this year in the 400 meter hurdles, and has already defeated all of the top three hurdlers of 2010.
It comes as no surprise then that LJ was inivited to be part of the star-studded lineup for the Adidas Grand Prix meeting on June 11 in New York.
