The focus of the seminar was to place a special emphasis on the issues of leadership in action and lessons learned from the past. A variety of papers on numerous topics and disciplines were presented with the purpose of setting clear guidelines for the practice of responsible leadership in the working environment.

The event was attended by local participants and international guests from the US. The highlight of the day was a presentation by Job Morris of the San community in Botswana, entitled Indigenous Leadership: Value-driven development: a San perspective.

It was the first time that the Albert Luthuli Centre for Responsible Leadership hosted a one-day seminar on responsible leadership. The Centre plans to host a biennial international conference in the future.
