The interview, which took place on
19 March 2012 , formed part of the Corporate Governance Research Programme that the ALCRL is currently undertaking on the drivers and subsequent consequences of corporate governance in South Africa. The research programme is presented in partnership with Professors Eccles and Serafeim from Harvard Business School and made possible through the support of Ernst & Young.
With the support of the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), the ALCRL has been conducting video recorded interviews by Bruce Whitfield, which will be launched by early September at a GIBS Forum on Governance and Sustainability.
In the Minister's interview, he shared insightful reflections on the state of leadership and accountability in the corporate sector, given South Africa's unique context, and provided a vision for progressive reform towards an equitable and sustainable society. This, and the other thought leadership interviews, will be made available through the
GIBS website in September 2012.
