The EFMD and the organising committee has chosen to investigate, discuss and explore the theme “making things happen”. Prof De Jongh gave a detailed presentation on the new vision for management education, namely Agenda 50+20. During his presentation, he outlined the vision, background, implementation strategies and emerging benchmarks as envisaged in Agenda 50+20.
Prof De Jongh discussed certain key points, such as educating and developing globally responsible leaders, engaging in the transformation of business and economy and enabling business organisations to serve the common good.
Further to this, the implementation of Agenda 50+20 was debated during an open session. The Agenda strongly argues for the integration of academic excellence with a commitment to sustainability and responsibility. This aims to be done through a collaboratory, which is an open space or meta-structure where action learning and action research in the field of responsible leadership and management education for the world can realistically join forces.
It was an exceptional conference where international speakers participated actively in discussions through critical inputs on different topics. Agenda 50+20 with its vision of responsible management education enjoys prominent attention in the EFMD.
