Gender and HIV/AIDS training for Faith Based Organisations

Posted on March 04, 2010

In particular, the workshop aimed to provide various faith-based organisations with skills and knowledge to respond optimally to the effects and impact of HIV/AIDS from a gender perspective. Eleven participants from the following countries attended the workshop: Guyana, India, Kiribati, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Samoa, South Korea, Taiwan and Zambia.

The following comments were made by some of the participants:

"I have honestly been moved, inspired and empowered in more ways than one. Both presenters were awesome and magnificent in every way possible. They were informative and I felt at home. I thank you for this new gained wisdom and I am hoping that I will be able to execute your lessons in the confident, comfortable and thoughtful manner in which it was given to me" – Roger Blackman (from Guyana).

"I come from a society where sex is everywhere but where it is never really discussed in an informed way where we can learn about the facts rather than the myths. Thank you for informing and challenging me". – Kirsten (from New Zealand).
