House Immergroen in Witbank was established in 1964 and is managed by the SAVF. It accommodates elderly and disabled people that are not able to look after themselves. The institution is a non-profit organisation that depends on donations to be sustainable. Two engineering students, Francois Bosch and Rikus Liebenberg, enrolled for the Community-Based Project of the Faculty Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology, decided to assisted the house with restoration work for their fieldwork
