Professor Wayne Cascio is a global expert on HR and a well-respected management educator and business guru.
Professor Cascio has an impressive list of credentials:
- He is U.S. Bank Term Professor of Management at the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Centre.
- He has taught at Florida International University, University of California-Berkeley, University of Hawaii, University of St. Galen in Switzerland, University of Geneva, and the University of Hong Kong.
- During the academic year of 1987-1988, he was a visiting scholar at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
- He received the Distinguished Faculty award from the HR Division of the Academy of Management in 1988 and the Bemis award for excellence in HRM from the International Personnel Management Association’s Assessment Council in 1994.
- In 1999 he received the Distinguished Career award from the HR Division of the Academy of Management.
- He received two “best paper” awards from the Academy of Management Executive for his research on downsizing and restructuring (1993 and 2003) and an honorary doctorate from the University of Geneva (Switzerland) in 2004.
Professor Cascio will lead the evaluation panel to evaluate the programmes offered at the Department of Human Resource Management. The rest of the panel consists of local HR experts: Prof Leon Jackson, (Research Programme Leader, Potchefstroom Business School, North West University) and Mrs Huma van Rensburg (CEO, SA Board for People Practice)
The evaluation is taking place on 9 to 11 November 2009. The panel will report to the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Principal before leaving.
