According to Mr. Wesley Niemann, lecturer in the Department of Business Management, the primary objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding are to identify opportunities and co-operate on projects that are of benefit to students and industry in the disciplines of logistics, supply chain management and transport. Another important objective is to provide a framework for establishing strategic partnerships to support the provision of learning and development opportunities for persons studying towards a qualification or individuals who already have a career.

Various projects have been identified for 2010 which include the establishment of a mentorship program for students studying towards the BCom option Supply Chain Management and the introduction of short-term internships for final year students during recess periods.
