Fellowship awarded to UP student

Dr Anell Meyer was recently awarded a scholarship from the Nestle Nutrition Institute to complete Fellowship training in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Clinical Nutrition at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne (RCH), Australia. She competed with candidates from Asia, Africa, the Pacific Islands and South/Central American countries.

Dr Meyer will join a medical team, which include nine gastroenterologists, to undergo formal training in all of the clinical skills offered by the department. The Gastroenterology Department provides a state-wide service to a wide range of gastroenterological conditions, performs organ transplantations and provides clinical nutrition services. There is an active clinical research program and individual and collaborative research projects are planned.
