We are extraordinarily proud to announce that Professor Adrian Saville has been nominated for The Economist Intelligence Unit Business Professor of the Year Award.

It goes without saying that given Adrian’s exceptional academic and business career, as well as his teaching talents, we believe that he is a worthy contender for this title. There is also no doubt that having one of GIBS’ leading faculty be awarded such a recognition would add significantly to the prestige and international standing of both our GIBS MBA programme as well as the school as a whole.

Currently students and alumni across the world may submit their nominations for “the business professor who has inspired, challenged and guided them through their business education”.

The voting period for all nominated professors will begin once nominations have closed on Tuesday, 23 October 2012 and will close at 5:00 pm GMT on Friday, 23 November 2012.

The professors with the most votes will proceed to the long list which will be judged by an expert panel of judges. From the long list of 15 professors, the judges will select their top four professors to form the short list. These selected professors will then take part in a live ‘teach-off’ in London on Thursday, 14  March 2013, where they will each plan and present a short lecture, which they will then deliver to a live classroom audience on a topic of their choice.

All viewers (in the room and online) will then cast their vote to decide who will be the EIU Business Professor of the Year. The votes will be calculated electronically and the results announced live. The event will be broadcast live on the Internet to viewers all over the world.
