The University was awarded the first prize in the Best Wow Shows category and the second prize in the Best Exhibition University category.
“We are very thrilled to have come first with our interactive science shows. This was a tough category. The organizations that we were competing against are prominent giants in industry. I am very proud of our award-winning science volunteers. We are all grateful for the recognition,” says Rudi Horak, curator of Sci-Enza.
According to Horak, being part of no less than forty exhibitors taking part in this year’s exhibition meant that the University had to come up with new captivating ways to stand out and command the young learners’ attention. “This achievement motivated all of our science communicators to carry on striving for excellence,” continues Horak.
In a quote by the Managing Director of Sasol Infrachem, Johan Furter on behalf of Sasol, the objective of the exhibition was “to inform, inspire and motivate learners, educators and the general public in an understanding of ‘Science and Technology’ in all its forms.”
