UP is proud to host the country's bright sparks

Posted on September 29, 2008

This event is aimed at nurturing scientists that are able to identify a problem, analyze information, find solutions and communicate the outcomes in an appropriate manner. We invite the community to visit the bright young scientists on Friday and Saturday, 3rd -4th October.

“The sciences, particularly Mathematics and Physics are important when it comes to improving the conditions of our country. It is a privilege for us to host the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists National Finals as it assists in laying the platform for brilliant young minds to shine,” says Prof Pat Eriksson, acting Chair of the School of Physical Sciences at the University of Pretoria.

According to Prof Eriksson, such events are of significance to the country as they open up the youth to the endless opportunities within the sciences. They truly inspire young scientists to press on with the knowledge that their input matters tremendously. The African continent is in dire need of scientists and researchers who can improve the quality of life wherever they may be.

Members of the press and general public are once again cordially invited to come and appreciate the country’s bright sparks at this prestigious event.
