Latest NRF-ratings for three staff members make Faculty proud

The Faculty of Law is proud to announce that three of our academic staff members have received the following National Research Foundation (NRF) ratings:

Professor Johan van der Vyver received an A2 NRF-rating. This is the culmination of a long and extremely productive research career. He has a long-standing relationship with the Faculty and also serves as an Extraordinary Professor in the Department of Private Law. Click here to read more about Prof van der Vyver’s career.




SARCHI Professor of International Development Law and African Economic Relations and attached to the International Development Law Unit of the Faculty of Law of the University of Pretoria, Professor Danny Bradlow, received a B1-rating.

Dr Magnus Killander
, Assistant Academic Coordinator of the LLM in Human Right and Democratisation in Africa Programme in the Centre for Human Rights received a Y2-rating. This rating is for young researchers (40 years or younger), who have held the doctorate or equivalent qualification for less than five years at the time of application, and who are recognised as having the potential to establish themselves as researchers within a five-year period after evaluation, based on their performance and productivity as researchers during their doctoral studies and/or early post-doctoral careers.
