The University of Pretoria’s (UP) Veterinary Science course has been ranked 43rd globally in the QS World University Rankings for 2019. Furthermore, UP is among seven South African universities which have courses in the top 500 in the world, in this ranking system.

EMS tops the local 2017 QS World University Rankings by Subject

This year's edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject was published on 8 March 2017. The University of Pretoria has been ranked first in South Africa for Accounting and Finance, and placed in the 151–200 band (the top 4% of all participating institutions worldwide).
