Third Joint Conference of Academic Societies in the fields of Religion and Theology

To all registered participants:

On behalf of the local hosting committee a sincere welcome. We are looking forward to have you as guests of the Faculty of Theology, UP. Most of you are reading a paper and we wish you well in preparing your paper. What an opportunity for all of you to contribute to the research field you are devoted to and are working in! To our visitors: you are as welcome as anyone presenting.

I kindly ask your attention for important detail. Please read this one to the end:

  1. As of today no money will be paid back in case of a cancellation. We ordered most of our necessities and can no longer change that;
  2. In case you struggle with accommodation, please visit the Website for information or contact Suzanne Potgieter who may be able to help ([email protected]);
  3. The student food centre on campus will be open for lunch and two other restaurants will most probably also be open;
  4. Access to our campus can be either through the Roper Street or the University Road gates. On day one you will be allowed. For the other days your name tag will be your ticket to the campus. There will be signs to the venue where we register: foyer of the Musaion for those who know our campus. Helpers will direct you to the rooms for the electives;
  5. It is holiday and you may find parking. When you enter the Roper Street gate, turn left and you will come across the open parking lot. We also arranged for parking in the parking garage for R5:00 per day. You get the ticket, bring it to me or Ester Steyn and we will give you another ticket to insert when you leave. You can give us the R5:00 per day as you use the facility;
  6. There will a table with the name of your Society. Please report at that table for registration. You will help us a lot by bringing your registration form and proof of payment;
  7. We will not have photocopy facilities available. In case you want to use hard copies for your presentation, please bring an estimated number of copies. There is a data projector in every room, but you need to bring your own laptop;
  8. The program is on the webpage. So are the almost 190 abstracts, sorted by the name of your Society. You will receive a printed copy of the program at registration but not a hard copy of the abstracts.
  9. We will try to have one table in the exhibition space for members who want to bring a publication of her/himself. Please make sure that there are contact detail with the publication. We do not have staff to attend to such a table fulltime.

Once again: welcome to our City and University.

REGISTRATION

The full amount of South African Rand is payable with registration.

THE DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS MAY 31, 2016.

Transport from the airport to City Lodge Hotel

In the case you will fly into OR Tambo International Airport a very good (and exiting) way to get to Pretoria is by the Gautrain. It departs from inside the Airport Building. The train is safe and fast. You need to buy a travel card and add money for a one-way trip to the Hatfield Station, Pretoria. You change trains for Hatfield Station at Marlborough Station. The current cost for a one-way ticket is R155. For more info visit: www.gautrain.co.za

From the Hatfield Station you may want to take a taxi to your B&B or Hotel. In case you arrive after 19:00 at OR Tambo Int. Airport you need to make alternative transport arrangements. In such a case or in case you prefer private transport from the airport anyway you can also do so by contacting Best Shuttle [email protected]. The last mentioned would give you a good price. In case you are more than one person you pay only a limited amount extra for every additional person. This is a very trustworthy person and service.
