The University of Pretoria’s (UP) Department of Research and Innovation, alongside the National Research Fund (NRF), will hold different information sessions for students wishing to apply for NRF funding in 2025.

Below are the listed sessions students may attend.

• The NRF and DAAD offer Master's & Doctoral Scholarships to South African citizens and permanent residents for studies at public South African Universities. NRF/DAAD is for applicants with a general interest in education and cultural exchange with Germany.

• NRF will be hosting an in-person session for UP students who wish to apply for  NRF Honours, Masters and Doctoral NRF General Scholarships, Grant-Linked and associated calls such as SARAO, SASAC, MINDS AND TWAS. The information session will be held on Thursday, 27 June 2024 at the AE du Toit Auditorium, Hatfield Campus, from 10:25 am to 11:20.

NRF Students’ Applications opening and closing dates:

Students who are applying for Masters and Doctoral funding need to attach a letter of recommendation on their application from their prospective or current supervisor, which needs to be stamped by the office so students can submit these letters at Graduate Centre, office 1-28 or 1-32, Hatfield Campus.
