Deadline extension for the Digital Literacy Tool

Posted on December 11, 2023

Dear UP community,

I trust this communication finds you well. I wish to extend my sincere appreciation to all staff members who have taken the time to complete the Digital Literacy Tool. Based on the aggregate results to date we are extremely pleased and encouraged by the digital literacy levels of our staff. A heartfelt thank you for your contributions! In addition, please note that all feedback received has been noted and where possible taken into consideration.

We have therefore decided to extend the deadline to January 2024 to allow further participation for those staff members who have not yet had the time to complete the assessment. Please view the Digital Literacy video here for an overview and more information.

Rest assured that your participation in this process is vital for the success of determining UP’s baseline digital literacy level. We believe that this initiative will not only benefit you individually but also contribute to the continued growth and reputation of our university.

Details about the Digital Literacy Tool have been communicated to you. Each staff member would have received an invite from the e-mail address [email protected]. The "From" display name would have shown ‘UP Digital Literacy Tool’ with the subject heading: ‘Digital Literacy Tool: Invitation’. Please email the above address if you have not received your unique link or have misplaced it.

The completion duration will take approximately 60 – 90 minuses to complete. Please set aside the required time in your diaries as it is recommended that you complete the DLT in one sitting. The individual-level outcomes will not be shared with anyone other than the system administrator/data analyst. Only the aggregated outcomes will be used.

We appreciate your cooperation in this endeavour.

Thank you for your continued support of our university's mission of knowledge, innovation and excellence.

Sincerely,

Mr Sandile Mthiyane

Chief Operating Officer
