The Special Collections Book of the Week this week is:
Fair Lady's Special Occasions by Annette Kesler
‘Fair Lady's Special Occasions’ shows how simple dishes made from fresh natural ingredients, and prepared and presented with care and flair, can make every special event—from an anniversary breakfast to a family Christmas—an elegant, festive and memorable occasion. Each chapter highlights a different special occasion and includes an imaginative menu, and a selection of surprisingly easy recipes. More than 100 lavish, lyrically styled photographs complement the recipes. The focus is on minimising fuss and effort without compromising on the delectability of the result.
Published in 1988, this book shows that while trends may come and go and styles may shift, then as now, simplicity is still the best approach to successful special occasions.
