Network Core upgrades & UP Corporate Systems Downtime

Posted on April 21, 2023

ITS Network Core upgrades 21 April 2023 18:00 - 22 April 2023 12:00

Please take note that upgrades to ITS Core network infrastructure will be undertaken during the above-mentioned time. These crucial upgrades are necessary to facilitate future network security and redundancy between UP's data centres. During this upgrade, ITS will also be conducting tests to ensure smooth failover to our secondary data centre in the event of any future Disaster Recovery incident occurring.

Note that no IT services will be available during the above-mentioned period!

This means the non-availability of all IT services requiring authentication, including Wi-Fi, UP Portals, and Enterprise systems. This is due to the need to conduct failover testing to ensure that authentication services will be available going forward.

UP Corporate Systems Downtime  22 April 2023 12:00 -  23 April 2023 18:00

After the upgrade to the ITS Network Core referred to above has been successfully completed, upgrades to the underlying hardware infrastructure of UP Corporate systems will then be undertaken. This will be done during the time mentioned above. These crucial upgrades are necessary to ensure continual support from our software and hardware vendors, as well as to facilitate redundancy between the two data centres.

During this second phase of the upgrade, authentication services WILL again be available for ClickUP, QuestUP, Wi-Fi access and Library systems, however, UP Portal and all Enterprise systems will remain UNAVAILABLE until this upgrade has been completed.
