Dear UP family,

As an agile institution that is future focused, we need to adapt to the needs of our changing employee demographic especially now that the way we do business has drastically changed for most of us.

In an effort to minimise online fatigue, as far as possible, we are rationalizing the e-mail communications that you will receive. To achieve this, the UP Executive has approved our request to make the following changes:

• All campus-wide email aliases will now contain the UP prefix in their display name.

• All communication requests will be consolidated into one email to be distributed institution-wide once a day. For this purpose, a new email alias has been created called UP Daily Bulletin. Communication requests must reach us by midday in order to be included in that day’s bulletin.

• Event invitations will be included in the UP Daily Bulletin but will also be published on the Events page for ease of reference.

• Urgent operational requests will be communicated separately under a new email alias called UP Campus Alert to replace Security Services, Facilities Management, etc.

• A new UP Management alias has been created to replace the individual email aliases of Finance, HR, etc. This also allows other professional services’ directors an opportunity to communicate campus wide.

• The Marketing alias will now be renamed UP Communication and Marketing

• The current Policies and the Health and Wellness email aliases will now have the UP prefix added to their display name.

• The VC email alias stays the same.

The email address for campus-wide communication requests is [email protected] please attach all relevant approvals to avoid delays. The email aliases have already been created and the rest of the changes will take effect from mid-February 2022.

We hope that you will embrace these changes as we try to reduce the number of emails we send out so you have more time to focus on enriching minds, delivering academic excellence and attending to core priorities.
