The Special Collections Book of the Week this week is:

War of Words: Dutch Pro-Boer propaganda and the South African War (1899-1902) by Vincent Kuitenbrouwer

Between 1899 and 1902 the public in the Netherlands was captivated by the war that raged in South Africa between the Boer Republics and the British Empire. At the time many Dutchmen supported the Boers. This book provides a thorough analysis of the Dutch pro-Boer movement from its origins in the 1880s to the early twentieth century. The author offers fascinating insights into the organisation that strengthened the ties between the Netherlands and South Africa. Finally, he also looks at the after-life of the Dutch pro-Boer movement.
