Dear colleagues

It is with great sadness that the Department of Finance hereby informs you about the passing of our dear colleague Mariette Engelbrecht and her daughter, Ronel.

Mother and daughter passed away on Sunday, 6 December 2020.

Mariëtte was appointed from 07 January 1995 at University of Pretoria in the Department of Finance. She was always admired for her friendliness, diligence, professionalism and passion. 

We acknowledge and appreciate her significant contribution to the Department and University. On behalf of the Department we express our sincere condolences to her family, colleagues and friends. We also extend our deepest sympathy to her husband Dawie and their son, Christiaan.

Mariëtte will surely be missed. The funeral will be held on 10 December 2020.

In consideration of COVID-19 regulations the funeral will be a private event with the family.
