UNIVERSITY OF PRETORIA CAMPUS TOURS WEBINAR
The University of Pretoria Campus Tours (UPCT) is a unique experiential learning component of the postgraduate degree in Heritage and Cultural Tourism at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. UPCT aims to simulate the real-life experience of the tourist guiding work environment by exposing students to research, marketing, finance, management, liaison, planning and the conducting of actual tours on the University campus. For over a decade and a half, this award-winning initiative, has been offering campus tours to a wide clientele.
As with tourism across the world, the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions and lockdowns brought UPCT to an abrupt halt. This webinar will reflect on how UPCT, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, overcame and capitalized on the challenge. A new and novel UP Virtual Campus Tours-Interactive was developed using a digital platform while maintaining an immersive human dimension.
Join this webinar on 2 December 2020 at 15:00 (CET) presented by this South African postgraduate cohort who will showcase how they have successfully responded and overcome the challenges of Covid-19 in the running of a tourist guiding operation.
