The University of Pretoria (UP) Alumni Office invites you to join the first LeadUP: In Conversation with the VC virtual chat. This new and exciting series of online panel discussions will see the Vice-Chancellor and Principal Professor Tawana Kupe moderate panel discussions in which distinguished alumni will be panellists. In these discussions, the panel will deliberate on topical issues of public interest.

The Justice Ministers of both South Africa and Namibia are alumni of UP and for the inaugural LeadUP: In Conversation with the VC virtual chat, Professor Kupe has invited Honourable Ministers Ronald Lamola, Minister of Justice and Correctional Services in South Africa, and Yvonne Dausab, Minister of Justice in Namibia, as his special guests for the discussion. Dean of the Faculty of Law at UP, Professor Elsabe Schoeman will also form part of the panel discussion which has been titled, By the book: In conversation with South Africa and Namibia’s Justice Ministers.

You are invited to join this exciting discussion as Professor Kupe chats to the Ministers about topics ranging from what justice really means, to what they hope to achieve whilst in office, especially as both countries come to grips with the COVID-19 pandemic and the scourge of corruption.
