#ChooseUP Day, held annually in August to welcome conditionally admitted students and their parents to the University of Pretoria (UP), will be held virtually on 15 August this year.

The event will be hosted on UP’s Virtual Campus, an online platform that allows visitors the opportunity to explore the University’s facilities and campus life through a combination of 360-degree panoramas and videos, as well as course-related information.

For #Virtual ChooseUP Day, a live-streaming session will be held on Virtual Campus during which Vice-Chancellor and Principal Professor Tawana Kupe and faculty deans will address visitors. The platform will also be upgraded with 23 new videos which specifically address questions frequently asked by visitors on #ChooseUP Day, and additional panoramas will be added to the more than 120 panoramas already on the platform. A live chat function will allow visitors the opportunity to ask questions on the day.

For conditionally admitted UP students, the #ChooseUP Day experience is tailor-made and personal. These students will receive an invitation to the event, and can indicate their specific interests (such as accommodation, funding and modules). Their link to #Virtual ChooseUP Day will be personalised, containing all the interests they indicated. After the live-streaming session, visitors can browse the platform and experience UP life.
