The University of Pretoria (UP) can confirm that a staff member from the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday 24 June 2020. The employee has not been on campus in the last week and he is currently in self-isolation in good health.

Immediate steps were taken to conduct contact tracing and those who have been in contact with the employee have been notified.

The health and well-being of our students and staff are our priority.  We continue to monitor the situation closely and are working with the health authorities.
