South African National Blood Service (SANBS) Blood Drive: Hatfield Campus, 9 January 2020

Posted on January 07, 2020

Did you know that less than 1% of South Africans are active blood donors?

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) will be at the University of Pretoria Hatfield Campus on Thursday, 9 January 2020 for a blood drive.

Venue: Admin Building Foyer, UP Hatfield Campus

Time: 10:00 - 14:00

Quick Facts:

  • A unit of blood only lasts 42 days after donation and, for this reason, it is important for blood donors to donate regularly.
  • Donors can give blood as often as every eight weeks.
  • Every unit of blood can save a minimum of three lives as blood is separated into red blood cells, plasma and platelets.
